Over 1,000 without power in Carolina Forest area

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Over 1,000 customers are without power in the Carolina Forest area.

According to information on Santee Cooper’s website, approximately 1,311 customers were without power as of 6:15 p.m.

The first power outage report came in at 5:37 p.m. According to Santee Cooper, the estimated restoration time is 8:45 p.m., Thursday.

Customers in the area of West Perry Road and Carolina Forest Boulevard are being impacted.

Officers were called to the area of Carver Street, Washington Street and King Street in the City of Myrtle Beach after 3:00 a.m. Friday, according to Sergeant Steven Clothier. Five or six shots fired is what was reported in the original call, Clothier said, several casings were on the ground near the Cover Apartments.
