Victim of fatal hit-and-run collision near Bucksport identified

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The pedestrian who was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a roadside ditch near Bucksport has been identified.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick said Jeffrey Glenn King, Sr., 61, was originally from Texas, but had been living in various locations in Horry County.

Hendrick said the victim appeared to have been struck by a vehicle either Sunday or Monday. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Police continue to search for the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.

Anyone with information is asked to call the South Carolina Highway Patrol at (843) 661-4705.
