FRIDAY AFTER THE OLYMPICS - "Whatever problems I had, I felt like they weren't there anymore – that's the effect it had on me," says former heroin addict Matt Zemola.
It's an epidemic on the rise.
"I didn't think about the consequences – the consequences never mattered," Zemola says.
One local man's struggle to maintain sobriety is shining a light on a local and national problem destroying lives.
"I have a chance – and that's what's important to me," he says. "The drugs are a symptom of a problem that is pervasive."
