Man arrested by Myrtle Beach police for stealing car while armed with box cutter

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police arrested a man on Friday who was wanted in connection with stealing an individual’s car while armed with a box cutter earlier this month.

According to Myrtle Beach Police Department records, Daniel Buck Seward, 40, was charged with: armed robbery; grand larceny; possession of a schedule I controlled substance, first offense; possession of cocaine, first offense; possession of a weapon during a violent crime; and sleeping in a vehicle at night.

The alleged carjacking happened on July 2 at 906 S. Kings Hwy., according to the incident report. The victim told police he was parked on the side of the Dollar General store and as he went to get in the vehicle, the suspect reportedly came up behind him with the box cutter and asked for the keys.

According to the report, the alleged victim handed over his keys and his phone. The suspect then drove off in the car.
