Car chase, crash in North Myrtle Beach injures two children

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – At least two children were injured in head-on crash on Sea Mountain Highway near Hill Street after a car chase that began when Horry County Police tried to stop a car Thursday afternoon, according to officials.

The HCPD tried to stop a car, the car refused to stop, the driver lost control of the car, and crashed into another car, according to Lt. Raul Denis with HCPD. The driver of the pursued car was taken into custody, and at least two children were injured, Lt. Denis confirmed.

The head-on collision occurred at Hill Street and Sea Mountain Highway, confirmed North Myrtle Beach Fire Chief Garry Spain. At least four patients were transported to the hospital.

The accident occurred at bout 5 p.m. Thursday, according to an advisory from NMB. The scene was clear as of 6:35 p.m.
