Lane shift at Glenn's Bay Road construction zone coming this weekend

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A lane shift will take place this weekend at the site of the Glenn’s Bay Road widening project.

According to a Horry County press release, traffic in the southbound lanes of the U.S. 17 Bypass, at the intersection of Glenn’s Bay Road, will switch onto the new temporary ramps. This switch will begin on Sunday, July 31, at 6 p.m.

Contractors hope to have the shift completed by 6 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 1, the release stated. During the work, the current entrance to The Lakes subdivision on the U.S. 17 Bypass will temporarily close.

However, the new entrance to The Lakes, located off Holmestown Road, is set to open Thursdy at 12 p.m., according to the release.
