Inaugural seafood festival coming to Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Grand Strand’s seafood restaurants will be celebrated in the fall with the inaugural Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival.

According to a press release, the event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15, between Eighth and Ninth avenues north along Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. It will run from 11 a.m., to 7 p.m.

The event, announced by the Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation and the city of Myrtle Beach, will feature everything from fish to shellfish, and oysters to crabs.

In addition to seafood vendors, the festival will offer free admission, kid-friendly activities, a beer and wine garden, and live entertainment, the release stated.

Jim Quick and Coastline will perform from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. Playing from 5 to 7 p.m., will be the Atlanta-based group The Tams. Various other artists will perform in between, according to the release.
