AYNOR, SC (WMBF) – Two Aynor residents were arrested and charged with unlawful neglect of a child following an investigation that began last week after a 4-month-old girl was found dead in a car seat at a home.

According to records from the Horry County Sheriff’s Office’s website, Andrew Wade Johnson, 31, was charged with unlawful neglect of a child, possession of less than one gram of ice, crank or crack cocaine, possession of one ounce or less of marijuana and sale or delivery of a pistol.

Additionally, Jennifer Elizabeth Wood, 31, was charged with unlawful neglect of a child and possession of less than one gram of ice, crank or crack cocaine.

Both were released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Sunday under an $18,000 and $15,000 bond, respectively.

According to the arrest warrants, the suspects had a one-pot meth operation at their home located in the 2700 block of Nichols Highway in Aynor. The infant child was also reportedly residing in the residence.

A substance that tested positive for methamphetamine was allegedly found in the home in close proximity to the child’s bedroom.

The infant was found deceased at the home on Thursday, July 21.
