FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A Florence organization providing baby supplies to low-income mothers is asking for the public’s help in restocking their supply following a break-in that employees discovered Monday morning.

According to information on its website, employees of Lighthouse Ministries came in and discovered that burglars had stolen over $6,000 worth of items.

Those items were diapers, baby wipes, baby lotion and wash, laundry detergent, blankets, car seats and several home goods, according to the website.

“The items that were stolen directly impact the lives of low-income women who are actively seeking ways in which they can create better lives for their families,” the website stated.

A GoFundMe page has been started to raise the funds needed to restock the diaper closet. As of 6 p.m., Monday, $2,210 of the hoped-for $6,000 had been raised.
