Lumberton Police seek suspect in armed Dollar General robbery

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – Lumberton Police are looking for a man who robbed the Dollar General and fired a gun into the air Wednesday evening.

At about 9:37 p.m., the man entered the store at 240 N. Robert Avenue and allowed several customers to check out in front of him, according to a news release from Lumberton Police. After the customers left the store, the suspect brandished a handgun and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of money.

Before leaving, the suspect fired one shot into the air, but no one was injured, the release states.
