NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - There are a lot of beachfront properties in the Grand Strand and Jason Moore hopes HGTV's "Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation" show not only gives exposure to fill more of them up, but shines a spotlight on the community in general.

It is one of the shows that keep people on their couches thinking of ways to upgrade their homes or potentially buy near a coastline. Now, it will be here putting the local area in the limelight.

“I'll be showing them different properties to look at and then they'll narrow it down from there," said Moore, an agent with the Hoffman Group.

This is not the first time Moore has helped put the Grand Strand on the map; he was spotted on an episode of "Beachfront Bargain Hunt" last year. Since then, he said his phone has been ringing off the hook and the exposure has been good for his business.

“I've made several sales from the last show, actually made some good contacts as well, even spoke to some people who said they watched it and came here to rent,” Moore said.

Hoffman Group has led real estate sales for almost 30 years and it helps when a show like "Beachfront Bargain Hunt" can give them an advantage.

However, with all of the revitalized areas and new developments across the Grand Strand, he hopes the show gets people to realize that the area is not so pricey.

Moore said this is a good time to buy because the housing market is steady. Although prices will increase soon, this will still be an affordable place for families to live or vacation.

“There's a lot of property out there and a lot of inventory out there to be had and just kind of narrow it down to what you're looking for and no matter what it is we can find something to fit for them," Moore said.

Moore said he knows for sure this episode will not only show what Myrtle Beach has to offer, but show visitors why they should want to live in the area and locals why they might want to buy beachfront.

The next episode of the show "Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation" will be called "Beachfront or Bust" and will air Saturday at 9 p.m., on HGTV.
