Power outages, trees, power lines on roads reported as storms sweep through area

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Downed trees, power lines in the road, and power outages are being reported across the viewing area as strong storms sweep across the state.

In Horry County, there is a report of power lines in the road at Red Bluff Road by the Waccamaw River, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Additionally, a woods fire was reported in the area of Cedar Branch and Hemingway roads near Longs.

In Florence County, a traffic light defect was reported on East Main Street at Jones Road in Olanta.

In Dillon, the SCDOT is en route to a tree in the roadway on I-95 at mile marker 197, in the southbound lanes.

Information from the National Weather Service indicated a tree was down on North Governor Williams Highway in Dovesville, one down on North Center Road in Auburn and an additional one knocked over by wind on Indian Branch Road near Oates Highway. All are in Darlington County.

Duke Energy Progress is reporting 203 customers affected in Florence County, 531 in Darlington County and 360 in Marlboro County.
