Man charged for shooting girlfriend in Mullins on Tuesday

MULLINS, SC (WMBF) – A man shot his girlfriend on Tuesday, July 12, and is now charged with attempted murder and domestic violence, according to officials.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Bennett Gasque Road in Mullins to find that 42-year-old William Francis Gasque had shot his live-in girlfriend in the abdomen, according to Captain Judith Barker with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Gasque was arrested and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violence crime.

Gasque’s bond was set at $75,000 surety, Captain Barker said. He is current incarcerated at the Marion County Detention Center.
