TRAFFIC UPDATE: Closures scheduled for Dick Pond Road near Socastee Swing Bridge

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Dick Pond Road will be closed during the overnight hours for several weeks in order for repairs to be done to the Socastee Swing Bridge.

According to information from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Dick Pond Road at the Socastee Swing Bridge will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., from Tuesday, July 19 through Friday, Aug. 12.

There may also be extended times when the road closure is necessary, according to the SCDOT. Bridge openings will be scheduled on the hour during the day, with the channel open all night.

Message boards will be placed at several locations notifying motorists to take an alternate route during this period.
