Georgetown County offers child advocacy training

GEORGETOWN, COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Georgetown County Guardian Ad Litem Program is offering a training a program August 16 in Georgetown for residents who are concerned about child abuse victims.

According to the Guardian ad Litem Program of Georgetown media release, this program is an advocate for children and they are looking for caring adults who are willing to give 4 to 5 hours a month to visit a child.

Volunteers must be over the age of 21. A college degree is not required, nor is a legal or social background.

The program is offering 15 hours of online training and 15 hours of class trainings at no cost, the media release states.

Classes will be held every Tuesday from August 16 until September 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
