GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – Sgt. Shannon Burbage went above and beyond, and brought joy to a local family by purchasing a bicycle after it was stolen on Friday, according to Georgetown Police Department’s Facebook post.

Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson rushed in to work and forgot to lock his bicycle and it was then stolen. Sgt. Burbage felt the need to do something and she replaced Kenny’s bike with the help from their local Walmart.

Kenny and his parents appreciate Sgt. Burbage and Walmart’s efforts for making his gift possible, the post states.

Kenny’s new bicycle is registered with the Georgetown Police Department and the GPD encourages everyone else to register their bikes so that the serial number can be on file.
