Robeson County teen faces murder charge following fatal weekend shooting

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – A Robeson County teenager is facing a murder charge following a weekend shooting that led to the death of one person.

Alkwuan Moore, 17, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, according to Lumberton Police Chief Michael McNeill.

On Sunday, two people were reportedly shot in the 2900 block of Freedom Drive in Lumberton after an apparent fight, McNeill said.

One person, 40-year-old Marlon Wade, died at the scene from his injuries, according to McNeill. The second victim, a 17-year-old, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect is being housed at the Robeson County Detention Center under no bond, McNeill said. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call (910) 671-3845.
