Grand Strand, Pee Dee Wendy's locations among those hacked

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Six area Wendy’s restaurants are included in the more than 1,000 nationwide that had their customer payment information hacked.

According to information from Wendy’s website, customers’ information could be at risk if they ate at any of the following locations between Dec. 2 and June 8:

  • 2462 U.S. 501 East in Conway
  • 702 Bradford Blvd., in Dillon
  • 401 E. Palmetto St., in Florence
  • 1727 W. Lucas St., in Florence
  • 2117 W. Evans in Florence
  • 2536 E. S.C. 76 in Marion

The thieves reportedly stole data including cardholder names, credit and debit card numbers and expiration dates.

Wendy's is offering to provide credit monitoring services and other protections to customers for up to a year.

One local school is taking extra steps to prevent the very contagious flu virus in the most vulnerable place for children. LeAnn Harter, a school nurse at Greenwood Elementary, children are already out of school because of the illness.

    A 62-year-old man died Thursday from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Homestown Road and Edenborough Drive on January 4. Grady Cobbs Jr., 62 of Myrtle Beach, was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center following the crash.
