MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Black Lives Matter protest is being organized to take place at Plyler Park in Myrtle Beach Saturday night, according to a Facebook event listing.

The event, titled “Peaceful protest rally. #blacklivesmatter” is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the park, located at 1100 N. Ocean Boulevard.

Myrtle Beach Police spokesman Joey Crosby confirmed that officers would be present at the event, but he did not expect them to be active.

“Aren't you really fed up?” the event listing states. “Stand with people who look like you, stand with people who don't look like you but feel as strongly about this as you do! Don't just stand for a day either, don't just be friendly for a day. Pay attention to the attempt at the reversal of our lives. They can't kill us all, and we gotta stop killing each other. What does one have to do with the other you ask? We teach people how to treat us so.... Now we're teaching them that we're done!!!”
