Victim hospitalized after hit-and-run in Georgetown; police seek suspect

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – Georgetown Police are looking for a suspect and vehicle involved in a hit and run accident early Tuesday morning that caused life-threatening injuries to the victim.

The victim, who is currently hospitalized, sustained the injuries when they were hit by a vehicle on Prince Street near Wood Street in the City of Georgetown, according to a Facebook post from the Georgetown Police Department. The driver then fled the scene.

The vehicle involved could possibly have front-end damage, officials state.

The department has sought assistance from the South Carolina Highway’s MAIT to reconstruct the traffic collision.

Anyone with information on the hit and run is asked to call Georgetown Police at 843-545-4304, or leave an anonymous tip at 843-545-4400.
