Coroner identifies 2 people killed in July 4 traffic collision in Darlington Co.

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Two people are dead after a traffic collision in Darlington County Monday afternoon, the county coroner confirmed.

The two people killed in a car crash on July 4 were identified by Darlington County Coroner J Todd Hardee as Latosha Irene Johnson, 20, and her mother, Carol Johnson, 47, both of Rosedale NY.  Latosha Johnson was driving east on SC Highway 151 when her vehicle crossed the median and struck an SUV head-on in the westbound lane, Hardee stated. This crash remains under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol, MAIT, and the Darlington County Coroner's Office.

The accident occurred at about 4:44 p.m. near the intersection near the Mayflower Restaurant, according to online information from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
