Local ocean rescue reports at least 15 rescues due to rip currents along the Grand Strand

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) The combination of strong southerly winds and rough surf as led to at least 15 people having to be rescued from local beaches. Local ocean rescue reported these rescues to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, NC who confirmed these reports. 

As of now, no one was injured and everyone was rescued safely. The threat for rip currents remains in the moderate to high category for Monday, the Fourth of July. It is advised to only go calf deep in the water on Monday and always swim near a lifeguard when venturing into the ocean.
