Several Fourth of July events planned across Grand Strand, Pee Dee

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A number of events are scheduled to take place across the Grand Strand for the Fourth of July holiday.

Below is a list of times and locations for weekend activities:

July 1

  • The Cheraw Independence Day Celebration kicks off with a parade at 10:30 a.m. and continues with downtown festivities from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • The Lumberton Annual Family Fourth Celebration will take place at 7:30 p.m.

July 2

  • The Murrells Inlet Boat Parade begins at 5 p.m., and starts from Garden City Point.
  • A fireworks display will take place following the Myrtle Beach Pelicans game at TicketReturn.com Field.
  • Black Jack Harley-Davidson in Florence will celebrate with a cookout from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • City of Bennettsville Recreation Department 2nd Annual Fireworks display begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m.at Lake Paul Wallace.

July 3

  • A fireworks display will take place following the Myrtle Beach Pelicans game at TicketReturn.com Field.

July 4

  • The town of Pawleys Island will have its 50th Annual Fourth of July Parade, starting at Myrtle Avenue, from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • The Salute From The Shore military flyover will make its way along the South Carolina coast beginning at 1 p.m.
  • The Garden City Golf Cart Parade starts at Calhoun Drive at 2 p.m.
  • The town of Surfside Beach will have its Fourth of July celebration at the Surfside Beach Pier starting at 6 p.m., and running until 10 p.m.
  • Broadway at the Beach will host a cupcake-eating contest from 2 to 4 p.m.; the Blue Aces Air Force Band will perform at 8 p.m.; and fireworks will follow at 10 p.m.
  • The Kaminski House Museum, located at 8 Old Barge in Pawleys Island, will host its 20th Annual Fourth of July Concert featuring the Indigo Choral Society starting at 4 p.m.
  • A fireworks display will be held on the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk starting at 10 p.m.
  • The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will be the site of fireworks in downtown Myrtle Beach starting at 10 p.m.
  • Fireworks at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach will begin at 10:15 p.m.
  • Freedom Fest at Darlington Raceway will take place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature live entertainment, a cruise-in car show sponsored by Raceway Ford Chevrolet, an expanded Kids' Zone sponsored by Sonoco, food vendors, arts & crafts vendors, and of course a huge fireworks display over Turn 2 to celebrate Independence Day!
  • The Laurinburg Annual July 4th Fireworks Display will be held at Pate Stadium, Scotland High School.  The gates will open at 7:00 p.m.

    HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Roughly one month after the Glenn’s Bay Overpass opened along US 17 Bypass, more traffic changes are coming to the same stretch of highway. A new traffic light is planned for 17 Bypass and Deerfield Links Drive according to Kelly Moore, public information officer for Horry County.
