Horry County jury convicts man in fatal 2015 shooting on Racepath Street

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Longs man was convicted Wednesday in the 2015 shooting death of a 20-year-old woman on Racepath Street in Myrtle Beach.

According to a press release from the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, an Horry County jury found James Abdullah Wilson guilty of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime following a two-day trial.

Judge Steven John sentenced Wilson to 27 years for voluntary manslaughter and five years for the weapon charge, the release stated.

Those sentences will run concurrently.

Wilson was convicted in the death of Nigeria McDonald, who was shot on Racepath Street on May 8, 2015.

The victim died at Grand Strand Medical Center shortly after she arrived.
