Government offices across Grand Strand, Pee Dee closed for Fourth of July holiday

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Government offices along the Grand Strand and the Pee Dee will be closed on July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

According to information from Lisa Bourcier, Horry County spokesperson, all county officers other than public safety operations will be closed on Monday.

Regular courts may be in operation in the Horry County Government and Justice Center, and all jurors, witnesses and others will be required to be present.

Pat Dowling, spokesman for the city of Myrtle Beach, said city hall, the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center and the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center will all be closed July 4.

According to Dowling, garbage collection will continue per the regular schedule, along with the city’s police and fire.

Mark Kruea, spokesperson for the city of Myrtle Beach, said city offices and facilities will be closed on Monday.

However, solid waste and recycling collections will follow the usual Monday-through-Thursday schedule.

According to Jackie Broach, spokesperson for Georgetown County, all Georgetown County offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, including recycling centers and the landfill. 

Information on the city of Florence's website stated city offices will be closed on July 4.  The Monday and Tuesday garbage and recycling collection routes will be collected on Tuesday, July 5, while no yard waste will be collected for Monday or Tuesday's routes.  Regular sanitation services will resume on Wednesday, July 6.

According to the city of Darlington's Facebook page, city offices will be closed on July 4 and reopen on Tuesday, July 5.

All government offices in Marlboro County will also be closed for the Independence Day holiday, according to the county website.

The Marion County website states that all county offices are closed on Monday.
