NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Construction on the second phase of Coastal North Town Center is wrapping up in North Myrtle Beach, and more new stores are moving in as the third phase of plans begin.
The third phase of development will see Burlington Coat Factory, Home Goods and Panera Bread. Ten other storefronts that will be built in the third phase are also available with varying square footage.
“Lot of great other concepts here that bring a lot of customers in,” said John Turner, Director of Operations with Mission BBQ.
People who work and shop there said the Coastal North Town Center has brought options to North Myrtle Beach that weren't around before. The center that will soon host more than 50 shops and restaurants is bustling from morning through closing time with locals and tourists.
All that is left of phase two is World of Beer, which is expected to be finished in September.
It's next door neighbor, Mission BBQ, just opened last week.
"This is our first location in South Carolina,” Turner said. “And so not a lot of people know who we are and what we do just yet. So the more people that get into the parking lot and see the truck, the more people will start to pop in, and once they have our food, they'll understand that we're the real deal."
Within a month, the third and final phase will be underway. The developer says the shopping center has been extremely successful already.
"This will be the place to shop when the last, final phase is complete,” Turner agreed. “And so, like I say, we're just really excited to be here."
The entire shopping center should be completely finished in June 2017.
