CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Coastal Carolina University and the community of Conway are rallying around their team.

Through their performance in the NCAA College World Series, the Chanticleer baseball team is not only making a name for itself but for its university as well.

Calls have been coming into the CCU admissions office over the last few days asking where CCU is located, what campus is like, and what exactly is a chanticleer?

Many people around here already know those answers.

"I mean it's great every body can pronounce it now you know...Chanticleer," One fan said. "That's Coastal. I mean it's who we are. It's huge recognition, huge kudos to what this school is doing."

It's the kind of recognition that comes with battling it out in front of the country with the nation's best teams.

"I think it's the biggest thing, sports wise, that Coastal has ever been a part of...it's a pretty big deal," another CCU fan said.

Dozens watched game one of the championship series from the Lib Jackson Student Union.

The movie theater in the building has been transformed into the ultimate watch party destination.

It will be available to anyone who wants to cheer on the Chants Tuesday and Wednesday night as well.

It's free, and refreshments are available, too.
