OMAHA, NE (WMBF) – Coastal Carolina baseball is still alive in Omaha after beating Texas Tech 7-5 on Thursday night to eliminate the 5th-seeded Red Raiders. The Chants move on to face TCU on Friday night, and must get another win to extend its season by another day.
Coastal picked up production from the bottom of the lineup, and the seven runs it scored tonight totals the run output from the team's last three games.
David Parrett, batting ninth, drove in three runs, while Tyler Chadwick went 2-3 with an RBI from the eight spot in the lineup.
Mike Morrison also got the win. The closer pitched 4.1 innings, and struck out six batters while getting the win. Bobby Holmes got the save, throwing 2.1 innings and striking out two.
First pitch between TCU and Coastal is scheduled for 8:00 EST. The Chants will be the designated road team for the third time while in Omaha.
