Coastal Carolina falls to TCU in College World Series

Coastal drops to 1-1 in CWS

OMAHA, NE (WMBF) – Coastal Carolina suffered a loss in the College World Series on Tuesday night after falling to TCU by a 6-1 final. CCU moves to an elimination game to be played on Thursday against Texas Tech at 8:00 ET.

CCU falls to 50-17 this season after the loss.

The Chants managed six hits the entire game, and couldn't get enough momentum going to string together a rally. Luken Baker started the scoring with a solo home run in the second; his second of this year's CWS. The Horned Frogs also took advantage of two bases loaded innings to bring more across.

Brian Howard powered the way on the mound for TCU. He threw 5.2 innings, striking out seven batters. Alex Cunningham only went 4.1 for Coastal, surrendering three runs in that frame.

G.K. Young brought in Coastal's lone run of the game on a single to center field in the sixth inning that scored Michael Paez.

TCU is through to the Bracket 2 Final, which will be played Friday night. The Horned Frogs are 2-0 for the first time in their history in the College World Series. They will meet the winner of Texas Tech and Coastal, while the loser's season is finished.
