NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 42-year-old Delaware man said that he was bitten on the foot by what he identified as a three-to-five-foot-long shark near 12th Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach Tuesday, according to a news release from the city.
He was floating on his back in the ocean when he apparently felt a tug on his foot, then felt his foot taken into the shark's mouth, the release states. He said shook his foot loose from the fish's mouth and made it to shore.
"There were puncture wounds on his foot and he was bleeding. He was taken to the hospital," NMB spokesman Patrick Dowling stated.
