CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Chanticleer baseball team's victory on the field is winning over hearts of baseball fans.

The results of the team’s success can be seen at the university bookstore.

People are buying all types of gear since the Chanticleers shocked baseball fans nationwide by winning a spot in the World Series.

Shoppers have been crowding into retail outlets for Chants merchandise, especially at their school's bookstore.

With the baseball team making national headlines by earning a spot in the World Series, and topping top ranked Florida Gators, teal nation is growing.

At the CCU bookstore, The Chanticleer’s baseball team has been responsible for about 15 percent of total sales and employees said sales are skyrocketing, especially online.

The bookstore staff restocked Chanticleer merchandise three times in the past week.

Workers said they think people didn't think the team would make it because before, sales were flat.  But now, since the team is really gaining nation attention, they're unloading trucks almost day and night.

They've sent merchandise as far as California.

"Anytime we can see people in different states wearing Chanticleer gear, it’s great for the University, it’s great for everybody, so were really excited about that," Bookstore Manager Karisa Sieger said.

The CCU president deemed Tuesday Spirit Day due to the team making a splash in the World Series Tuesday night.

So we want to see your support!  Send us pictures of how you're showing your school spirit to our website or share on Facebook.

The bookstore is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.n. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and closed Saturday and Sunday during the summer.
