GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A man was charged with murder Wednesday after stabbing a man repeatedly in the head and torso at his home in Hemingway, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Old Pee Dee Road in Hemingway at about 5:31 a.m. to find a man who had been stabbed lying in the roadway, according to a news release from GCSO.

Deputies determined the victim was staying at a residence nearby. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old M'Andre Racquel Cochran, and his last known address is the same residence. He arrived at the home unannounced, entered, located a knife, and stabbed the victim repeatedly about the head and torso, GCSO officials said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the release states.

Cochran was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center, pending a bond hearing. He is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent offense.
