Quilt of Valor Ceremony honors Conway veterans

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – The Quilts of Valor Foundation will honor veterans by donating handmade quilts on July 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lakeside Crossing Ballroom, 144 Lakeside Crossing Drive, Conway, SC 29526.

The ceremony will honor 20 veterans residing in Lakeside Crossing who served in WWII, Korean War, Vietnam, and more recent conflicts. Each recipient will receive a quilt made by a member of the Conway Quilt Guild to say, “thank you for your service.” Also, a brief reception will follow.

The members of this foundation have made quilts of many different patterns and according to their website, over 100,000 quilts were awarded.

“The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.”
