Car collides with NMB Police motorcycle, officer uninjured

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A North Myrtle Beach Police officer is uninjured after he self-ejected from a motorcycle when a Mercedes collided with it Sunday afternoon on Main Street, according to city officials.

Motorcycle officer Aaron Jones was traveling east on Main Street on his patrol motorcycle when a gray Mercedes pulled out from Oak Street into Jones’ lane of travel, according to a news release from the City of North Myrtle Beach. The front driver’s side bumper of the Mercedes collided with the motorcycle, Jones self-ejected from it, and he was uninjured.

The driver of the Mercedes and her passenger were also uninjured.

The patrol motorcycle sustained significant damage to the front end.

The collision is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
