ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - A pedestrian crossing Interstate 77 in South Carolina has died after being hit by two cars. South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis tells media outlets the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday near Rock Hill.

PICKENS, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina state troopers say 10 people, including eight students, were injured when two school buses were involved in related crashes. Troopers tell local media outlets both collisions happened Saturday afternoon on Highway 11 in Pickens County.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina political strategist Richard Quinn has boasted a client list that includes GOP icons such as Lindsey Graham and John McCain. The veteran consultant's indictment this month on criminal conspiracy and illegal lobbying charges could mean difficult circumstances for the noted Republicans who have relied on his advice for years, as well as presidential contenders who may have been counting on his stewardship in this early voting state.

READING, Mass. (AP) - Police say a woman driving the wrong way crashed into another car in Massachusetts that left both drivers in serious condition. WCVB-TV reports the crash happened on Route 128 in Reading Sunday morning when a 26-year-old South Carolina woman driving north on the southbound side collided with a 24-year-old driver from New Hampshire. Authorities believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
