RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - House and Senate members are again debating changes to North Carolina's judicial election districts and whether selecting judges should be revamped completely. A joint judicial redistricting and reform committee is slated to meet Monday. Members are supposed to review new proposed election boundaries for trial court judgeships. Some GOP leaders hope they can finalize the maps sometime this week.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say two North Carolina men tried to con a woman into paying $60 in a bogus kidnap scheme. News outlets reported Friday that David Eugene Lee and Christopher Logan Haltom were charged with several offenses including, obtaining property by false pretenses. Capt. James Rowell with the Pender County Sheriff's Office says the pair made up a fake story that Lee had been kidnapped by drug dealers who threatened to kill him if Lee's mother didn't pay them $60.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a man has been found in a dumpster outside of an apartment building in North Carolina. The Winston-Salem Journal reports the body was found in a dumpster outside the Ivy Apartments in Winston-Salem on Saturday around 11:08 a.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Three teens have been killed in a wreck in North Carolina. The North Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened in Raleigh around 2 a.m. Sunday. The victims were 18-year-old Eric Avila and two brothers, 19-year-old Carlos Gomez and 17-year-old Juan Gomez. The victims were in a car that collided with an SUV at an intersection. The people in the SUV did not serve life-threatening injuries.
