LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF) – Formal charges have been filed against a Little River man who was reportedly involved in a standoff with Horry County police on Tuesday.
Patrick Devlin, 25, has been charged with resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, first-degree arson and threatening to use a hoax device, according to information from Horry County Police Lt. Raul Denis.
Police went to a home on Waypoint Ridge Avenue in Little River to arrest Devlin, who was wanted for an earlier assault, Denis said.
The suspect allegedly swung a razor blade at officers before barricading himself inside the residence, making suicidal threats and threatening to use an explosive device, according to Denis.
Police were involved in the standoff for more than eight hours. The suspect was eventually taken into custody without injury to himself or anyone else.
