MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Marlboro County man is facing charges from different law enforcement agencies in reference to alleged burglaries and possession of stolen goods.
Clio Police Chief John Lester said McRae allegedly broke into a police vehicle and a local Dollar General store on May 25. He added nothing was taken from the department's patrol car.
McRae is also suspected of other burglaries in the Clio area, according to Lester, although he is not currently charged in connection with any additional ones.
On Tuesday, Marlboro County Sheriff's Department officials announced that McRae was arrested and charged with possession of stolen goods, resisting arrest with a weapon, disorderly conduct and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
A press release stated McRae was allegedly caught on a stolen dirt bike two weeks ago that part of a burglary case the MCSO is investigating.
Last week, MCSO investigators were talking to the suspect at the Clio Police Department and he reportedly became disorderly and resisted officers while being searched, the release stated.
During the search, law enforcement allegedly found a handgun and a knife on McRae's person.
The suspect has a bond hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
