GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The person who died following a crash in Georgetown County has been identified as 79-year-old Virginia C. Sibauste of Murrells Inlet, according to Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Paulette Radcliffe.
Sibauste died Monday around 10:51 p.m., at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Her 2007 PT Cruiser was struck by a box truck around 2:30 p.m., Monday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Sibauste, according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins, failed to yield the right of way while turning onto U.S. 17 from Pendergrass Avenue. The truck, which was traveling south on the highway, struck the driver's side of her car, Collins said.
Sibauste was not wearing a seat belt.
