Ocean Boulevard cleared, reopened after gas leak

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) -  The all clear has been given following a gas leak on Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach.

An alert sent out Sunday night just before 10 p.m. by North Myrtle Beach Public Safety said Ocean Boulevard was closed between Main Street and 2nd Avenue South due to a gas leak.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue was called to the scene around 9:30 p.m., according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

When they arrived they found a ruptured line at the O.D. Pavilion Amusement Park, the post said.

O.D. Pavilion workers had to leave the area but no other businesses needed to be evacuated.

Crews put other safety measures in place while waiting for SCE&G.

The road was reopened at 11:30 p.m., according to fire officials, after SCE&G have the all clear.
