GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – Two men were arrested by Georgetown County authorities for allegedly stealing equipment from a home on Sunfish Street in Georgetown.

According to a Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office press release, Travis Deleon Jones, 23, of Andrews, and Patrick Tilton, 21, of Georgetown, were both charged with one count each of second-degree burglary.

They were taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center, where they are awaiting a bond hearing.

The release stated that on June 1, GCSO deputies received a call of a suspicious vehicle backed into the woods on Creek Bend Drive off of Pennyroyal Road south of Georgetown.

Deputies found an unoccupied vehicle next to a path in the woods, with several pieces of equipment on the ground, according to the woods.

One of the suspects came out of the woods and was eventually arrested after being interviewed by law enforcement.

The second suspect allegedly fled into the woods once he saw sheriff’s deputies, according to the release.

Deputies searched the woods and eventually found the suspect on the screen porch of a home.
