LONGS, SC (WMBF) – A moped driver was killed in a collision Wednesday night, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
At about 10:25 p.m., a 2005 Chevy four-door was traveling east on Tallwood Road and struck a 2008 moped in the rear.
The moped operator died at the scene from his injuries, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Chevy, 21-year-old Steven Isdell, is charged with driving too fast for conditions.
Willard identified the victim as Joel Deaton, 53, from Longs.
The crash remains under investigation by the SCHP.
