ANDREWS, SC (WMBF) – A two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon outside of Andrews resulted in one fatality, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

SCHP Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said the collision happened at 12:40 p.m. A 2004 Nissan four-door vehicle was pulling out from a private drive onto Big Dam Swamp Road.

The driver of that vehicle pulled out in front of a Ford F150 pickup that was heading south on Big Dam Swamp Road, according to Collins.

The pickup truck struck the Nissan in the driver’s side. Collins said the driver was killed as a result. The victim was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.

According to Collins, the driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. That individual was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A press release from the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office stated the victim was identified as Nicholas Cameron Cumbie, 18, of Andrews.
