FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – The Florence Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire at 1226 June Lane Apartments at 10:20 a.m., Monday, according to a news release.

First responders with Florence County EMS and the Florence Police Department found heavy smoke from the kitchen area of a two-story apartment.

The probable cause of the fire was unattended cooking, said the fire department’s investigator. The kitchen received heavy fire and smoke damage while the rest of the apartment had heavy smoke damage as well.

Two adults and two children were displaced by the fire. There were no reported injuries to the residents or firefighters, according to Fire Marshal Ken Carr.
