MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Authorities say a man wanted in connection to an attempted murder case out of Charlotte was arrested in Myrtle Beach early Sunday morning, according to Keith Trietly with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team coordinated the arrest of Matthew Tolson with assistance from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Trietly said.

A "wanted" poster said Tolson was wanted for attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a felon, interfering with an electronic monitor, and damage to property.

Authorities said Tolson was court ordered to wear the electronic monitoring device as a condition of his pre-trial release, but he reportedly cut if off last month.
