Shots fired during altercation in downtown Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC, (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police responded to a call for shots fired near Main Street early Saturday morning. When officers arrived on scene, they say they found Kelvin Thomas sleeping in a vehicle.

Officers reported that Thomas was hard to wake up and had an empty gun holster on his belt. Thomas told police he carried the empty gun holster because he thinks it is cool.

Thomas was arrested for loitering and taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail.

At the time of the investigation, two shell casings were found behind Thomas's vehicle.

After reviewing surveillance camera video, it was discovered that there was a fight between several men with shots being fired near Thomas's vehicle.
