Georgetown County accepting applicants for Citizen Academy

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Georgetown County Sheriff's Citizen Academy will be having classes for citizens to learn more about their community.

The Citizen Academy will educate citizens on day to day responsibilities and operations of a law enforcement agency. They will also learn about services provided to the community, the divisions and their functions.

 These classes will be held on Tuesday evenings, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. February 23 - April 12, 2016. For seven weeks of academy, participants will meet at the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Substation at the Litchfield Exchange for class.
