Authorities say a man was found shot to death inside a vehicle in Lumberton Saturday morning.
Sheriff Kenneth Sealey says crews got the call around 6:30 a.m. to head to Valtee Drive. Roscoe Bell Jr., 60, was found in a vehicle with gunshot wounds and was declared dead on scene.
Sealey says Bell was sitting in a vehicle talking to another person when a gold-colored 90s model work van with a ladder on the top drove by.
A witness reported that two men got out of the van, opened the doors to Bell's vehicle and shot him. Sealey said the witness reported that the incident was not a robbery, and authorities say the motive is unclear at this time.
Sealey says there were possibly 3-4 people total in the van at the time of the incident.
Bell's death is being investigated as a homicide.
