GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – A man wanted for a bank robbery at the South State Bank in Georgetown on January 15 was arrested Monday morning, according to a news release from the Georgetown Police Department.
Percy Blackwell Jr., 47, of Andres was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. after investigators made a traffic stop on a vehicle he was riding in on Alex Alford Road.
Blackwell had an outstanding warrant for the robbery of the South State Bank on January 15 at about 12:00 p.m., according to officials. Blackwell walked into the bank and passed the teller a note demanding money.
Blackwell was identified using the surveillance camera footage, and warrants were obtained. He had been a fugitive from justice since the robbery.
Blackwell was taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
