MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Starting off Friday on a dry and cloudy note. By this afternoon rain moves in to the area thanks to a intensifying low pressure system riding up the coast. Come lunch time, a few showers will be possible and by this afternoon and evening heavy rain will be likely across the area. Anywhere from 1-2" of rain could fall through tonight causing ponding and minor flooding on poor drainage roads. Be careful on your evening commute.
Saturday morning brings dry weather and temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Saturday will also be mostly sunny. A big different from today. High temperatures on Saturday will also be running above average as we top out in the lower 60s. We stay mostly dry through the rest of the week but see a slight increase in cloud cover for Sunday where maybe one or two showers could move through.
A shot of very cold air moves in starting Sunday with highs in the lower 50s. By Monday, highs will only be in the lower 40s with overnight lows in the mid to upper 20s. We see a slight warming trend by the end of the week.
